The PTA Board believes that it is important that the members know where their dollars are being spent. Thanks to our members we have brought in $532, a 20% increase from last year, in membership dues. We also received a donation of $100! Thank you!
Our two major family events so far, the Back to School BBQ and the Family Square Dance have cost $815 and $733, respectively. While the BBQ was free, the dance brought in $691 to help offset its cost.
The SCRIP program has generated $848 so far. Last year this program brought in over $4000 by years end. Keep ordering every month to see this number rise!
Lori Davies, a Wedgwood parent, our own Drawing Instructor and coordinator of our Art Docent Program, has certainly been busy. She has replenished our docent supplies at the cost of $470 for the year, and used $820 to get our students ready to learn to draw the architectural wonders of the world.
One of the best ways for the PTA to spend money is in support of our teachers. The Staff Appreciation Committee has spent $560 to this point. This includes breakfast for the staff on the first day of school and a new water/coffee system for the staff lounge. The Teacher Supply Fund is another great support system. Each teacher is provided $350 for classroom supplies every year. Currently, three teachers have turned in receipts totaling $820.
Our expenses to date have been: Golden Acorn Award; $143, Passport Club; $281, Parent Hospitality (refreshments served at meetings); $139, and a Board Grant (scholarship for school supplies); $61.
