November brings us Thanksgiving, a time to be thankful. As PTA presidents, we’re thankful for the obvious – a robust start to the pledge drive, well-attended events, a greater than 20% increase in our membership over last year. That is what makes our PTA strong, right? Sure, those things certainly help. But what we really should be thankful for are the little things. The working parent who lends a helping hand at Pumpkin Carving Night just because he is there and can. Or the children who volunteer their time to be conflict managers on the playground instead of playing with their friends. And the parents who spend a rainy Sunday planting pansies and mums in pots to cheer up the entrance of our school. It is these small efforts that build our community and make it stronger each day. So, Wedgwood Families, thank you for the little things.
