First off, Gwen and I must thank all of you on drop-off and pick-up duty. Some drastic changes were implemented over the last 10 days, and for those of you who joined us in embracing the changes for the safety of our children, we thank you. Hopefully no one received a jaywalking ticket yesterday from the Seattle Police who sent two patrol cars to help convince those who chose not to join us see how important the changes truly are. The PTA board has finished its traffic control stint, but we will be back if necessary or if the signs now taking our place don’t do the trick.
Secondly, what a fortunate financial position we are in this year thanks to your generosity. By now, if you are a PTA member, you should have received a ballot asking for your input on how to allocate the $21,000 in additional funds available to the PTA due to your donations. Make sure you get these back to us by Friday so that the votes can be tallied over the break.
We are also so fortunate to have a strong group of families who not only realize the strength of the education available at our school but also see the value in providing funds for enrichment not only to the children but also to the staff and the building itself, making Wedgwood truly a great place to be!
