  • Kids in the enthusiast class can print and return lesson certificates for chess ladder points.

How to approach the Chess Puzzles (ideally): Kids should attempt the problems on their own and spend at least a few minutes trying to figure each one out. If they've hit a roadblock then hints are appropriate. If it's still too difficult, try to work out the puzzle together. The puzzles should be fun, sometimes challenging, and contribute to improved performance in games. Gains come quickly after a few weeks of consistently strong effort. Questions? email Dan Osborn.

A list of instructional documents from previous years are also available: 06/07 & 07/08.
